As chief quality officer, James (Jim) Tucker oversees the quality and safety of all programs and services offered at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital. He leverages his expertise and leadership in nursing, quality and analytics to drive and execute strategies to improve performance and build a culture of safety, collaboration and excellence.
Prior to joining Orlando Health, Jim served in progressive quality leadership positions with Saint Mary’s Health System in Waterbury, Connecticut. Earlier, he held roles in nursing leadership and as director of clinical effectiveness with Stamford Health System in Stamford, Connecticut.
Jim earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, and his MBA in information systems and management from the New York University Stern School of Business, New York City. He is a registered nurse in Florida and a certified high reliability trainer in healthcare performance improvement. He is Lean Six Sigma Black Belt trained by the Juran Institute and a management fellow of the Advisory Board Academy Fellowship Program, Washington, D.C.
Jim and his wife, Monica, enjoy spending time with family, including their four grown children and two grandchildren, reading, boating, and working on home-improvement projects.
