Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Named Official Medical Team for Fort De Soto Trilogy

St. Petersburg, FL (June 16, 2021) – The Fort De Soto Trilogy draws some of the best triathletes to the Tampa Bay-area, and this summer, event organizer Integrity Multisport is partnering with Bayfront Health St. Petersburg to be the official medical team for the trio of races.

As part of the agreement, physicians and athletic trainers with Bayfront Health St. Petersburg will be providing on-site medical support to athletes participating in the races. The partnership also designates Bayfront Health St. Petersburg as the presenting sponsor for the three events, which will take place at Fort De Soto Park June 26, August 14, and September 11.

“The hot, humid Florida summer can take a toll on even the most well-conditioned athletes and we’re proud to be there to provide the care they need to compete at their best,” says Katherine F. Wojnowich, MD, program director for the sports medicine fellowship program at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg and team physician at Eckerd College. “We’re honored that Integrity Multisport has chosen the sports medicine specialists at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg to look after their athletes and that they have partnered with us to continue to support our community.”

The Fort De Soto Trilogy is a favorite Florida triathlon series. Athletes compete in three races of equal distances against the beautiful backdrop of Fort De Soto Park in St. Petersburg. It features a saltwater swim in full view of spectators, a traffic-free bike course, and a scenic 5K run through the park with views of the Gulf of Mexico. Friends, family, and music will welcome the athletes through the finish line as they test their limits and set new personal records throughout the beautiful course.

"Integrity Multisport is thrilled to partner with Bayfront Health St. Petersburg on the Fort De Soto Trilogy,” says Rob Childers, owner and race director for Integrity Multisport.  “Working with such a strong community partner whose mission is focused on the wellbeing of our community fits so well with our mission of providing first quality events that challenge our athletes both physically and mentally."
