Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Names Gilbert COO, AVP

Seasoned Executive joins Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Leadership Team

St. Petersburg, FL – (January 20, 2022) – Bayfront Hospital St. Petersburg today announced it has named Sarah D. Gilbert, a health care executive with more than 30 years’ experience, as its new chief operating officer and assistant vice president.

“We are delighted to add Sarah to our leadership team,” said John Moore, president, Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. “She is a creative healthcare leader who believes in collaboration and consensus building.”

Gilbert’s responsibilities will include overseeing hospital logistics and long-term planning for the facility as well as the expansion of specialty areas and the acquisition of new technologies.

“Taking on this role is an exciting opportunity to help Bayfront return to its position as a leading provider of high-quality health care for the people of St. Petersburg” said Gilbert. Gilbert’s previous achievements include leading a master facility expansion process, leading the strategic expansion of key surgical specialties, while reducing overhead costs and improving operational efficiencies.

Gilbert’s most recent role was as senior vice president, operations, at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia, Michigan. An alumna of the University of Evansville (Ind.), she earned graduate degrees from the University of Indianapolis and University of Michigan, and she is a Six Sigma Blackbelt. In 2020, Crain’s business magazine included her in its list of the Notable Women in Health.
