New Name for Pasco County Hospital Announced
Physicians and executives tour the Wesley Chapel facility as it readies for a 2026 grand opening
Wesley Chapel, FL (May 7, 2025) – Orlando Health’s new Pasco County hospital will officially open as Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health Wiregrass Ranch Hospital in 2026. Physicians and executives recently toured the hospital to get a first-hand look at the construction progress and learn more about the facility’s benefits for physicians and patients. “Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health Wiregrass Ranch Hospital will be a significant asset to the folks in and around Wesley Chapel and Northern Hillsborough County,” said the hospital’s president and Chief Executive Officer of Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health, Joe Delatorre. “This state-of-the-art facility will bring high quality care, incredibly advanced technology, and expand access to talented physicians across the Tampa Bay community. I’m happy to be a part of this growth.”
Located at 3000 Wiregrass Ranch Boulevard in Wesley Chapel, the hospital will open in the spring with 102 beds. With the ability to expand to accommodate up to 300 beds at full build out, the facility will feature nine operating rooms (OR), including a hybrid OR that provides advanced imaging capabilities to allow for real-time imaging during surgical procedures. Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health physicians were heavily involved in collaboratively designing the facility, selecting state-of-the-art technologies, and planning the comprehensive services to be offered to serve the community’s needs.
Florida Medical Clinic and Orlando Health joined forces in 2023, creating Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health. In 2024, the organizations further solidified their partnership with the re-branding of Bayfront Health Medical Group under the Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health name.
Following the opening of the Pasco County hospital, Orlando Health’s presence in the greater Tampa area will continue to expand in summer 2026 with the opening of the Orlando Health Watson Clinic Lakeland Highlands Hospital in Polk County. The organization also plans to open two freestanding emergency rooms – one in Lutz and the other in North Lakeland – to complement each of the new hospitals. The healthcare system also operates Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, along with several clinics, outpatient facilities, free-standing emergency rooms, and medical centers throughout greater Tampa Bay.
