St. Peterburg’s Institute Square officially opens on Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital Campus

Complex features many comprehensive medical services including laboratory, cancer, imaging and orthopedic services for Greater Tampa Bay Area

St. Petersburg, FL (February 13, 2026) – Orlando Health’s new Institute Square medical complex has opened in St. Petersburg to bring advanced high-quality care to the surrounding communities and Greater Tampa Bay Area. Covering a city block on Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital’s campus in the St. Petersburg Innovation District, residents now have access to several outpatient medical practices in one location. Community leaders including St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch, and the CEO of the St. Petersburg Innovation District joined Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital President John Moore to introduce the facility to the public on Thursday, February 12, 2026.

Institute Square holds three of Orlando Health’s institutes – The Orlando Health Cancer Institute alongside Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute and Orlando Health Women’s Institute. The facility underscores Orlando Health’s commitment to deliver high quality medical care locally, while also streamlining access for patients across the Tampa Bay area.

“Bayfront has been a trusted healthcare provider in this community for more than a century, and we’re excited to continue building on that legacy,” said John Moore, Orlando Health senior vice president of the west region and president of Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital. “We’ve been listening to our patients and community partners, and this medical pavilion will bring comprehensive care to St. Petersburg that is critically needed.”

The project, roughly four years in the making, includes a 132,000 square foot Medical Pavilion, a Women’s Pavilion and a parking garage, which houses Orlando Health Imaging and Wound Healing Centers. The complex provides easy access to parking, and an abundance of welcoming spaces to foster excellent patient experiences during their care journey.

Cancer Care:

The Orlando Health Medical Pavilion – Institute Square is home to a collaboration between the Orlando Health Cancer Institute and Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institute, the nation’s largest privately owned oncology and hematology practice. The Orlando Health Cancer Institute provides a wide range of cancer services including leading-edge radiation oncology, cancer surgery including skin and gastrointestinal procedures, robotic and minimally invasive thoracic procedures, highly specialized multidisciplinary care for head and neck conditions and care support specialists. The relationship between the Orlando Health Cancer Institute and Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute bolsters the community’s cancer care by combining the strengths of both organizations and providing treatment for all cancer diagnoses under one roof.

Orthopedic Care:

Also in the Orlando Health Medical Pavilion, is a new one-stop-shop for orthopedic care through the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute. The practice brings together multiple orthopedic and sports medicine providers, creating an environment of collaboration and innovation. The large clinic offers x-rays, a cast room and minor procedure room to streamline each patient’s care journey.

This location also includes the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute’s first walk-in clinic in the Tampa Bay area.  The walk-in clinic enables patients with orthopedic injuries or concerns to directly access a specialized orthopedic provider without an appointment.

Women’s Services:

In the Orlando Health Women’s Pavilion – Institute Square obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) services are available through the Orlando Health Women’s Institute.  Our program is run by a team of highly qualified OBGYN’s that not only provide specialized care to our patients, but are dedicated to cultivating talented practitioners, as they train to continue an incredible legacy of quality care. Fertility services are also offered in the Orlando Health Women’s Pavilion. Shady Grove Fertility Clinic provides a full range of fertility treatment and service options to those who are looking to achieve their dream of parenthood.

Laboratory, Imaging and Wound Care Services:

In addition to the various medical practices located in the Orlando Health Medical and Women’s Pavilions, patients will also find advanced imaging and wound care on the first floor of the parking garage. laboratory diagnostics can be found on the ground floor of the Orlando Health Medical Pavilion. Institute Square provides easy access to parking, and an abundance of welcoming spaces to foster excellent patient experiences during patients’ care journey.

Patients have begun seeing medical providers at Institute Square, but plans are underway to offer additional medical service lines as construction wraps up over the coming months.
