Surgeon J. Ryan Williams, MD to Lead Colorectal Surgery Practice at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg
St. Petersburg, FL – (October 22, 2021) – Bayfront Health St. Petersburg announced J. Ryan Williams, MD, will serve as director for Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Medical Group’s new Colorectal Surgery Department. This new service line will work with patients seeking support with colon and rectal related issues. Prior to this new role, Dr. Williams served as the vice chief of surgery for Bayfront Health St. Petersburg since 2020.
Dr. Williams earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in Louisville, KY, and completed a fellowship in the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery at the University of South Florida’s Department of Surgery where he was chief resident in 2013 and 2014. Dr. Williams brings his experience specializing in minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques to treat colon and rectal conditions to the department.
In addition to his service at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, Dr. Williams also serves as an assistant professor at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. Dr. Williams serves on more than a dozen professional and performance improvement committees.
