Tampa Bay Rays Team Up with Bayfront Health St. Petersburg to Honor Health Care Heroes

St. Petersburg, FL – (September 30, 2021) – Last Friday, the Tampa Bay Rays presented a check in the amount of $18,000 to honor the healthcare professionals providing selfless service to the City of St. Petersburg at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.

Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Hospital is the city’s first and largest hospital.  Established to serve Pinellas County in 1910, it has humbly served the growing needs of the St. Petersburg community for more than 100 years.

For every stolen base this season, the Tampa Bay Rays donated $250 to the Orlando Health Foundation West Florida. The seventy-two bases that were stolen during the regular season will assist Bayfront Health St. Petersburg’s healthcare heroes and the communities they support.

John Moore, president of Bayfront Health St. Petersburg and John Bozard, president of Orlando Health Foundation West Florida, accepted the check on behalf of the healthcare heroes honored.

“We are so thankful for the Tampa Bay Rays support of our team members,” said John Moore.  “Knowing the community is standing behind our healthcare heroes is invaluable.”
