Holly Baab, MD

Associate Director

Holly Baab, MD, joined the faculty full-time in January 2010. She is a native Floridian and earned her bachelor's degree in microbiology and cell science with honors from the University of Florida. As a true-blue Florida Gator, she remained in Gainesville to earn her medical degree. While a medical student, she served as president of the UF Family Practice Student Organization and a member of the Medical Selections Committee. She was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Medical Society and was awarded the University of Florida College of Medicine's award for Outstanding Achievement in the Study of Family Medicine.

Dr. Baab was delighted to be matched to her first choice at Bayfront Medical Center. As a resident, she was instrumental in converting the program from a traditional call schedule to the current night rotation. Additionally, as both a medical student and resident, Dr. Baab served on the board of directors of the Florida Academy of Family Physicians. She also served as secretary/treasurer of the Florida Association of Family Practice Residents and was awarded Bayfront Medical Center's M.A. Barton Scholastic and Research Award.

Dr. Baab then moved to Rio Rancho, New Mexico where she joined the state's largest private nonprofit multi-specialty medical group, distinguishing herself as a strong local partner as she performed most of the group's outpatient GYN procedures, including endometrial biopsies, IUD placements and colposcopies. In caring for patients of all ages, Dr. Baab was nominated as a "Top Doc" by her peers and featured in Albuquerque the Magazine.

Dr. Baab returned to Tampa in 2009. In addition to serving as associate director, she is also an affiliate assistant professor for the University of South Florida, a chair for the Clinical Competency Committee, serves on hospital committees and regularly co-authors publications with residents. Dr. Baab's interests include women's and children's health, but her favorite part of being an attending is working with the residents. Dr. Baab is married to a high school classmate and they are proud parents of a son and daughter.
