Academics

The faculty at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital is dedicated to providing an academic atmosphere for this residency. Our educational lectures are held Friday Mornings and include pathology conferences, along with topics on maternal fetal-medicine, endocrinology and fertility, basic sciences, and gynecologic oncology. Residents also participate in a monthly afternoon education conference. Afternoon conferences consists of several formats of education like simulation labs, at times residents use this time to do a wellness afternoon like yoga, meditation and relaxation, painting etc. We also have monthly journal clubs and residents participate and prepare lectures to present as well.

As part of graduating from residency and expand our resident’s fund of knowledge, each class is required to participate in scholarly activity. As a PGY 1, you must present a case report and submit for publication. As a PGY 2 and 3 you will work on your proposal and research project respectively and present during research day. As a PGY 4, you’ll submit your research project from the previous year for publication, and also be given the opportunity to present at Grand Rounds.
