OB-GYN Residency Application Criteria

Each year the program participates in the National Resident Match Program for four PGY-1 positions. Applicants interested in our program for the upcoming year must submit an application and all supporting documents online through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Each application is reviewed on an individual basis once it is complete. An application is considered complete when the following information has been received:

  • ERAS Common Application
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • MSPE Letter
  • Medical School Transcript
  • Personal Statement
  • Three letters of recommendation (at least two of these should be from members of the Dept. of Obstetrics and Gynecology of your school, affiliate hospital, or elective course, and current within the last 12 months)
  • USMLE Part I & II (applicants must have completed and successfully passed on first try)
  • Comlex I, II & III (if applicable)
  • ECFMG Certification (if applicable)
  • We do not sponsor any visas

The residency director and faculty shall review completed candidate applications to ensure equal access to the program. All completed applications must be submitted by the October 1 deadline, no exceptions. Applications for our OB-GYN Residency Program are only accepted via ERAS.

Once the training selection committee reviews applications and selects the most qualified candidates, interviews are soon offered. The OB-GYN Residency Program interviews candidates during the months of October, November, December and January.

Foreign medical graduates must have a current dated or stamped “Indefinite” certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). They must have passed Steps I and II of the USMLE.
