Dr. Christa Finer is an osteopathic physician at Bayfront Health Medical Group in St. Petersburg. Her specialty is primary care with expertise including:

She believes in approaching patient care holistically. With a special interest in lifestyle medicine, she looks at each patient as a whole, rather than the individual conditions they may have. She values treating every patient as if they were her family member or friend.
Dr. Finer’s Training
She earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers and her doctorate of osteopathy from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida. She completed an osteopathic residency with Bayfront Health Family Medicine in St. Petersburg, where she was chief resident.
About Dr. Finer
Dr. Finer is licensed as an osteopathic physician by the Florida Department of Health. She is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, American Academy of Family Physicians and American Medical Association.
She has published research on cardiomyopathy and muscular dystrophy in the Journal of Noninvasive Vascular Investigation.
She originally attended film school in Los Angeles for screenwriting and had her own script editing business before returning to Florida. She decided to pursue a career in healthcare after helping care for her father before he died.
Dr. Finer has more than a decade of previous experience with a state-licensed counseling service to provide patient assessments, intake evaluations and psychological screenings.
Her path to family medicine was driven in part by her desire for continuity of care with her patients, seeing how they improve and helping them through difficult moments.
Outside of work, she enjoys running, meditating, cycling, kayaking, hiking, travel, pickleball, and spending time with family and friends.
