For more than 30 years, David Desper, MD has been teaching residents at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. He currently serves as the assistant medical director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program. He supervises residents in labor and delivery, the mid-risk obstetrics clinic, the postpartum clinic and in the operating room on both major and minor gynecological cases. His clinical interests include obstetrics, office gynecology, benign gynecological surgery, colposcopy, vulvar disease and menopausal medicine.
He earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from Washington University (St. Louis). Dr. Desper also completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology through Washington University at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
He is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a NAMS-Certified Menopausal Practitioner (NCMP). He is a fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and a member of the North American Menopause Society (NAMS) and the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP).
