Bio
Dr. Evita Persaud is a licensed clinical psychologist with Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health Family Medicine. Her specialties include:
- Anxiety and panic disorders
- Chronic illness self-management
- Eating and body image concerns
- Emotion dysregulation
- Relationship and interpersonal functioning
- Adolescent and emerging adult development

Dr. Persaud uses evidence-based behavioral interventions including cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy. She believes in collaborating with patients to create personalized, solution-focused treatment plans that empower them to set clear goals, track progress and build effective coping skills.
Dr. Persaud’s Training
Dr. Persaud earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Florida in Gainesville and received her master’s degree and doctorate in clinical psychology (PsyD) from Xavier University in Cincinnati. She completed a dual-site behavioral health fellowship through the University of South Florida, focusing on the integration of primary care and counseling at the St. Petersburg Wellness Center and general counseling at the Tampa Counseling Center.
About Dr. Persaud
Dr. Persaud is licensed as a psychologist in Florida. Her professional memberships include the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies and American Psychological Association.
She has presented workshops and research on numerous topics related to mindfulness, emotion dysregulation, stress and anxiety.
Before joining Orlando Health, Dr. Persaud served as assistant director of counseling services at the University of South Florida’s St. Petersburg Wellness Center, where she led strategic planning, supervised clinical services, oversaw the doctoral training externship for PsyD students from the Florida School of Professional Psychology at National Louis University, and provided clinical care to patients. She also served as an adjunct faculty member, teaching clinical psychopathology and evaluating clinical competency exams.
Outside of work, Dr. Persaud enjoys painting, sketching, cooking and reading.
