Gail Davenport is a nationally certified advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) with Bayfront Health Medical Group Cardiovascular. She works alongside general cardiologists and interventional cardiologists to provide care for patients primarily in the inpatient setting.
Her specialty is acute/critical care with expertise in congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndromes and cardiothoracic surgery. Gail’s job duties include:
- Evaluation and management of acute and chronic cardiovascular patients
- Electrocardiogram interpretation
- Cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Cardiac stress testing
- Providing patient education
Gail’s Training
Gail received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Central Connecticut State University in New Britain. She earned her Master of Science in nursing (MSN), acute care nurse practitioner program, at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, where her clinical experience concentrated in cardiothoracic surgery, pulmonology and cardiology.
About Gail
She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is licensed as an APRN in Florida. Gail is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and American College of Cardiology.
Gail began her nursing career in 1990 before completing her nurse practitioner degree. Her experience included cardiovascular ICU nursing as well as flight nursing. After completing her APRN program, she moved to St. Petersburg, where she has worked in the medical community since 1999.
She has delivered local and national presentations on topics such as medical and surgical management of congestive heart failure, management of patients undergoing valvular heart surgery and heart rhythm surgery, and the air medical transport of patients with cardiac emergencies.
Outside of work, she likes to travel and spend time with her family.
