Gregg T. Schuyler, MD, is a native Floridian, born in Miami Beach. He received his undergraduate degree from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri and then attended the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City where he earned his medical and Ph.D. degrees. His Ph.D. research involved cardiac genetic changes during stress and aging.
Dr. Schuyler received his internship and residency training in internal medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He continued there in the clinical investigator pathway, completing his cardiology fellowship training in clinical cardiology and post-doctoral research training in molecular genetics of cardiac hypertrophy. He also completed advanced echo training describing diastolic properties in trans-genetic mice and in mitral valve repair in humans. He is board certified in cardiovascular diseases. He has been practicing non-invasive cardiology at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg for more than 20 years.
Dr. Schuyler is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology. He is a member of the American Heart Association, American Society of Nuclear Medicine and American Society of Echocardiography.
