Dr. Heisy Asusta is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health. Her areas of expertise include:

Before she joined Bayfront Health, Dr. Asusta served an officer in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps for eight years, reaching the rank of major. She served at Nellis Air Force Base as medical director and chair of both the Maternal Child Health Function Committee and the Complex Obstetric Emergencies Simulation Committee. She also led the implementation of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery protocol in obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Asusta’s Training
Dr. Asusta earned her bachelor’s degree in biology, her master of public health (MPH) and her medical degree from the University of Miami in Florida. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in Texas, where the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists recognized her for excellence in minimally invasive gynecology and the school’s faculty honored her with the Hope Award for excellence in gynecologic oncology.
About Dr. Asusta
Dr. Asusta is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, where she serves on the resident education committee, and a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
She has experience in undergraduate and graduate medical education, having served as assistant professor and clerkship site director at the Uniformed Services University and community faculty at the University of Nevada Las Vegas OB/GYN residency program. She received the Association of Professors of Gynecology and Obstetrics "Excellence in Teaching Award" in 2024, which recognizes faculty on a national level.
