Khaled Fouad Basiouny, MD, began his career in the Unites States Armed Forces, serving as a military officer, including service in Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. He earned his medical degree at University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. He completed his residency in general surgery at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania and a fellowship in trauma/surgical critical care at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. In addition, he earned a master’s degree in public health at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Basiouny is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma. He has volunteered worldwide in medical training trips, participated on medical committees nationwide and has written and lectured extensively in the medical community.
