Bio
Dr. Ligia Perez is a board-certified family physician with Bayfront Health Medical Group. With 23 years of experience working as a primary care provider in Florida, she is able to treat and prevent a variety of illnesses. Services include:
- Performing in-office procedures
- Managing long-term illnesses
- Preventive care
- Educating patients
- Ordering and interpreting medical tests
- Administering vaccines
Dr. Perez believes that an integral part of her role as a healthcare provider is educating her patients on how to take better care of themselves so they can achieve long-term physical and mental balance in their lives.
Dr. Perez’s Training
A native of Rio de Janeiro, Dr. Perez received her medical training at the University of Brasilia in Brazil. She trained in internal medicine at Hospital Regional Da Asa Norte in Brasilia and completed a residency in family practice at Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital Center in Chicago, where she served as chief resident in her final year. Dr. Perez performed a fellowship in rheumatology and clinical immunology at the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Dr. Perez is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Outside of work, Dr. Perez enjoys traveling with her family, reading, listening to music, snorkeling, and taking care of her plants and animals. She is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
