Dr. Manuel Sainz de la Pena is a board-certified endocrinologist with Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of complex endocrine and metabolic conditions, and his expertise includes:
- Type 1 and type 2 diabetes
- Thyroid disease and thyroid cancer
- Advanced lipid biology
- Osteoporosis
- Sleep biology metabolic abnormality association
Dr. Sainz de la Pena has cared for patients in the Tampa Bay area since 1993. He believes in the importance of getting to the root cause of his patients' health concerns.
Dr. Sainz de la Pena's Training
Dr. Sainz de la Pena graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, where he also received his medical degree. He completed an internal medicine residency and a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine / University Hospital in San Juan, followed by another fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Sainz de la Pena is board certified in internal medicine and endocrinology and metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine. His professional memberships include the Florida Medical Association, American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, Florida Endocrine Society, Hillsborough Medical Society and Tampa Bay Latin American Medical Society.
Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, gardening and live music.
