Rebecca Simpson is a nationally certified physician assistant (PA-C) with Bayfront Health Medical Group Cardiovascular in St. Petersburg. She works alongside general cardiologists, interventional cardiologists and electrophysiologists to provide care for patients in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Her area of expertise is clinical cardiac electrophysiology, and she is the coordinator for the Watchman Program. Rebecca’s job duties include:
- Evaluation and management of acute and chronic cardiovascular patients
- Conducting post-procedure appointments
- Electrocardiogram interpretation
- Cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Cardiac device management
- Cardiac stress testing
- Providing patient education
Rebecca has a passion for educating patients about their cardiac conditions and treatment options. She believes that patients should be empowered with information so they can be active participants in their medical care.
Rebecca’s Training
Rebecca earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. She received her master’s in clinical medical science (MCMSs) at Barry University in St. Petersburg, Florida. She has completed clinical rotations in internal medicine, geriatrics, neurosurgery, pediatrics, behavioral health, bariatric surgery, emergency medicine and women’s health.

Rebecca is licensed as a physician assistant in Florida and is certified in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support.
Her professional memberships include the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Florida Academy of Physician Assistants, Christian Medical and Dental Association, American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm Society and Academy of Physician Associates in Cardiology.
Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys teaching color guard, dancing, yoga, reading, and spending time with her family and two cats.
