Bio
Dr. Victoria Otano is a board-certified family medicine physician with Bayfront Health Medical Group with expertise in:
- Providing primary care
- Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions
- Offering preventive measures such as health screenings and patient education
- LGBT/HIV care
- Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)
- Hormone replacement therapy (HRT)
She is passionate that minorities and underrepresented groups have access to the same care as everyone else. Her focus is to help decrease health disparities and to increase the number of minority physicians.
Dr. Otano’s Training
Dr. Otano received her bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, graduating magna cum laude. She earned her medical degree from the University of Kansas Medical School in Kansas City, where she was recognized for her commitment to diversity and inclusion, and completed her residency in family medicine with a concentration in healthcare disparities at Halifax Health in Daytona Beach, Florida.
About Dr. Otano
Dr. Otano is a council member of the Florida Academy of Family Physicians justice, equity, diversity and inclusion initiative. She has presented research about the role race plays in maternal and newborn care and has served as a mentor for Latino pre-medical students applying to medical school.
Dr. Otano is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and is credentialed as an HIV specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. Her professional memberships include the American Academy of Family Physicians, National Hispanic Medical Association, American Medical Association, Florida Academy of Family Physicians and American Academy of HIV Medicine.
She is fluent in English and Spanish.
