• Tampa Bay Rays Team Up with Bayfront Health St. Petersburg to Honor Health Care Heroes

  St. Petersburg, FL – (September 30, 2021) – Last Friday, the Tampa Bay Rays presented a check in the amount of $18,000 to honor the healthcare professionals providing selfless service to the City of St. Petersburg at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.

• Bayfront Health St. Petersburg announces quality improvements

  St. Petersburg, FL – (April 28, 2021) – Today Bayfront Health St. Petersburg is announcing quality improvements achieved during its first six months of operation under Orlando Health ownership. The quality-specific update demonstrates significant gains in the quality of care provided to patients.

• Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Receives National Recognition from American Heart Association for Quality Patient Care

  St. Petersburg, FL – (September 24, 2021) – Bayfront Health St. Petersburg received three awards from the American Heart Association. The achievements recognize hospitals across the country for providing quality stroke care.

• Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Committed to Increasing Access to Healthcare

  St. Petersburg, FL – (June 9, 2021) Bayfront Health St. Petersburg has filed for a permit to demolish the building currently located at 1800 66^th Street, St. Petersburg. The four-acre site, which the hospital purchased in March, will become the location for the new Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital Emergency Room & Medical Pavilion – Crossroads.  The facility will include a three-story, 42,000 square feet building with a 14,000 square feet emergency room located on the ground floor and space for future medical offices located on the second and third floors. The emergency room will include 12 exam rooms, including two resuscitation rooms, six areas where patients can comfortably wait for their results and an ambulance bay.

• Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Welcomes Cardiology Surgeons John Brock, MD and Dennis Cassidy, MD to the Team

  St. Petersburg, FL – (October 22, 2021) – Bayfront Health St. Petersburg recently announced Board Certified cardiothoracic surgeon John C. Brock, MD, F.A.C.S. and award winning cardiologist Dennis M. Cassidy, MD, as the newest additions to the hospital’s growing staff. The two doctors will join the cardiology department at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.

• Surgeon J. Ryan Williams, MD to Lead Colorectal Surgery Practice at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg

  St. Petersburg, FL – (October 22, 2021) – Bayfront Health St. Petersburg announced J. Ryan Williams, MD, will serve as director for Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Medical Group’s new Colorectal Surgery Department. This new service line will work with patients seeking support with colon and rectal related issues. Prior to this new role, Dr. Williams served as the vice chief of surgery for Bayfront Health St. Petersburg since 2020.

• Orlando Health Joins the HHS Perinatal Improvement Collaborative to Improve Outcomes for Mothers and Babies Across the Nation

  Orlando, FL (November 8, 2021) -- Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies and Bayfront Health St. Petersburg are participating in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Perinatal Improvement Collaborative, a large-scale, data-driven collaborative of over 200 leading hospitals caring for diverse populations in all 50 states. The collaborative is overseen by the HHS Office on Women’s Health (OWH), using real-time data, analytics and performance improvement methodologies from Premier Inc. 

• Each Tampa Bay Rowdies goal supports Bayfront Health St. Petersburg’s Health Care Heroes

  St. Petersburg, FL – (October 29, 2021) – The Tampa Bay Rowdies presented a check, Wednesday, October 20, to the Orlando Health Foundation West Florida in the amount of $18,000 to honor the healthcare professionals providing selfless service to the City of St. Petersburg at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.

• Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Joins With City to Fight Skin Cancer

  St. Petersburg, FL – (August 26, 2021) – Today St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman, Bayfront Health St. Petersburg Chief Financial Officer LaTasha Barnes and Andy Gardiner, sr. vice president, external affairs for Orlando Health announced a new initiative to help protect visitors to the St. Pete Pier from the dangerous effects of too much sun. The officials unveiled the first free permanent sunscreen dispensers, sponsored by Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. The sunscreen dispensers are located at four points on the St. Pete Pier – on the fishing deck, near the restrooms adjacent to the Discovery Center, across from the Spa Beach Bistro and near the stairs leading to Spa Beach, which is where the unveiling occurred.
