Located on the hospital campus, the Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital Epilepsy Center is dedicated to providing quality care to those living with epilepsy or seizure disorders. We offer evaluation, diagnostics, medical therapy, clinical trials, surgical intervention and ongoing support. As a Level IV Epilepsy Center accredited by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers -- and the only such center in Pinellas County -- our program also can offer a comprehensive evaluation for epilepsy surgery.

The Advanced Care of a Level IV Epilepsy Center

Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital has been accredited by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC) as a level 4 center. This accreditation is reserved for centers providing the most complex forms of intensive neurodiagnostic monitoring, as well as more extensive medical, neuropsychological, and psychosocial treatment. Level 4 centers also offer a complete evaluation for epilepsy surgery, including intracranial electrodes and a broad range of surgical procedures for epilepsy. To receive the care essential to patient health, safety and quality of life, the NAEC recommends that patients be referred to a level 3 or 4 center when seizures have not been brought under control after three months of care by a primary care physician or 12 months of care by a general neurologist.
